What is the Junior Music Course?
Yamaha's Junior Music Course is a comprehensive program designed to give your child a well-rounded understanding of music. This isn't just a course that teaches your child to read and play music on the piano. Lessons are specifically catered to the physical and emotional development of your child. That is what makes the Junior Music Course so unique, and so effective.
We have put together a few video clips from the actual classes.

Music Learning
Yamaha offers a well-balanced program with lessons that include more than just playing notes on a piano. Students learn music by listening, singing, playing, reading and - as they progress through the class - creating. This well-rounded educational experience will allow your child to develop a comprehensive understanding of music, and in time can make playing, reading and composing music as natural to them as speaking, reading and writing their first language.
Social Benefits
Music is made to be shared! Group lessons will give your child the experience of sharing the excitement and joy of music with friends. Having the opportunity to express themselves in a creative way in front of others will also help to build their confidence, and will help to make them more comfortable communicating and sharing their ideas in other group settings, like at school!
Developmental Benefits
A child's listening skills begin developing rapidly at the age of four. They are very interested in new sounds and are eager to learn new words. Introducing music learning between this age and the age of six boosts their listening skills through guided singing and playing. Music learning also kick starts the development of fine motor skills as they learn to play songs on the keyboard using each one of their fingers!
Why Music?
Balancing intellectual and emotional growth is very important as your child progresses through the early years of their life. Music has a positive influence on emotional growth, and will give your child another way to express the things they are thinking or feeling. Discovering the expressive nature of music will also give them another way to explore their imagination and be creative!
